Meet Fran

A Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator based in Perth, Western Australia.

Fran was compelled to go into the specialty of Diabetes when she first met her husband who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 19. He felt judged based on his “numbers” and not seen as a person. Seeing his experience, and subsequent disconnect from his diabetes team drew Fran to becoming a diabetes educator, in the hope of changing this experience for others.

With her wealth of experience, Fran uses a non-judgemental, individualised approach to care. She understands that a person is more than just their condition, and helps people understand how they can live their very best lives despite their diagnosis.
