A bolus calculator is a way to help calculate your insulin doses.

They can be used through a mobile phone app, or through a glucometer that has this feature.

A bolus calculator uses settings that are individualised to your requirements to calculate how much insulin you may need for your food, and how much insulin you may need to “correct” a high glucose level.

They are designed to make life easier so that you don’t have to do the maths!
